Life Update

I had planned to update all sites that run this blog system (which would mean my posts on lamblefamily.com would start looking normal again), but our car has devloped a funny burning smell that needs attention. Maybe updates will come this Wednesday.

A Little More Bright Eyes

If you act fast you can get a free Bright Eyes tune from the iTunes Music Store. I am not sure how long it will be free for, since it isn’t the free tune of the week, but act fast. Get it here.

Also, they have quite a few free tracks over at Saddle Creek.

Letter to my Dad

Dad,

Luke has mentioned that you want a spell-checker on his site. I am guessing that he won’t be able to product one any time soon, but there is a solution for your spelling needs. I installed Firefox on your computer and there is a plugin available for Firefox to do spell-checking. It’s called Spellbound and it is very easy to install/use. Simply go to the site, click on Installation and follow the direction. Once you restart your browser you will be able to right-click on any text entry field and check your spelling. I use it all the time, in fact I am using it right now.

Travis

Another Weekend in the Books

Another fun weekend has concluded after a lot of fun. Saturday night (after a day of studying), Rachel and I went to Nebraska Furniture Mart (she says I can’t tell anyone…that’s why I am only putting it here…no one will read it). At NFM I picked up the newly released Bright Eyes CD, I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning. Great CD.

Rachel then decided that Fiorella’s Jack Stack sounds like a good place for dinner. She was quite correct. We shared a meat spread well suited for any barbeque aficionado. I am so proud of her for eating more meat.

After another baby blessing for my cousin’s baby, Gabe, Rachel and I went to Target, where I picked up the other new Bright Eyes CD, Digital Ash, Digital Urn. I have only listened to this one a couple of times and haven’t latched onto it as much as Wide Awake, but I am sure I will. Now a qustion for all Bright Eyes fans: I first heard of Bright Eyes in September 2003 when Connor contributed a track to Lost Highway: Lost and Found 1 (Lost Highway is my favorite record label – Nonesuch is my second favorite – for anyone that cares). Back to the question: Bright Eyes is on the Saddle Creek label, so are Saddle Creek and Lost Highway related?

The weekend ended as all great weekends do: with a wonderful episode of Arrested Development.

Finally, I spent some time this weekend working on a new blog front end using Smarty and Textile. And when those links look normal you will know everything is working.

WoW update

I am now a level 30, yes me, the same guy who said he would never make it to level 20. I am spending most of my time in Duskwood and the Wetlands right now. I am closing in on 31, we’ll see if and when I make it there.

Aaron, I too joined a guild. I don’t remember the name, but Rachel’s cousin Jeff said I had to join it. I haven’t gotten anything out of it, except I am now in on the guild chat. Tonight, while playing for a little while I got to listen in on a heartwrenching tale of trust and betrayel. Sig was on a quest with his supposed friend, Thrasher. After two full hours of playing, Thrasher somehomw stole an axe that Sig desperately wanted. Sig is now so upset. Sig is probably 12 and I am 24, how cool am I?

New Chipotle Sighting

The joy over my new toy almost made me forget to share the real good news of the day. On my way to Planet Sub before class, I was at the intersection of 49th and Main and noticed a brand new Chipotle about to open any day. It looks beautiful and I am sure the burritos taste even better.

4G, Meet your Grandpa

I got myself a new 4th generation iPod today thanks to some gift certificates and money for Christmas. I haven’t used it yet, but will be testing it out soon. My old, 1G iPod stopped working recently, but it only had a 5GB HD, so upgrading to the 20 will be nice.
