funny link

To make a long story short, I saw a link on top of a page for ‘White Chicks’ – the movie – and I just had to click on it. Believe it or not I got a ‘400 Bad Request – Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.’ Apparently the server could not understand why anyone would ever go to this site and it was simply letting me know.

our new apartment

We are in the process of moving to a new apartment right off the Plaza. Here are a few shots I snapped from tonight. We are not really going to move into completely until this weekend, so check back all week for new photos.

Saved!

Rachel and I went to see Saved! last night. I thought it was a great movie. It was very funny and had a good message. Roland, played by Macaulay Culkin, was my favorite character in the movie. He plays the brother of super-Christian Hilary Faye, played by Mandy Moore.

I can see why some might be slightly offended by the movie – its overall message is that God made each of us different and we should accept everyone.
The director of the film, Brian Dannely, was on Fresh Air the other day. He grew up in Christian schools and had some interesting things to say on the show. He wrote about what he knew and made a very good movie.

ryan adams demos

I wanted to point to some Ryan Adams demos I found on his site yesterday that were great. They were only available by listening to them from his site and now they are gone. He has replaced them with some different demos, however. So go check them out.

shrek 2

Rachel and I went to see <a href=http://shrek2.com/'>Shrek 2 tonight. I enjoyed the first five minutes of the show and a few jokes here and there, but for the most part, it wasn’t everything it was made out to be.

audio

Does anyone know if it is possible to pipe the audio that is going to my speakers to a program, such as lame, using the command line. I am guessing it would be /dev/something, but I am not sure if that is possible. Anyone know?

fink

I installed fink today and it went just fine. Right now my only use for it is for lame (I know iTunes converts mp3s also), but I am sure I can quickly find more uses.

tivo

It is not time for me to seriously start thinking about getting tivo.

hotspot in a box

I surfed over to Linksys to find the brige in the previous post and came across this, a hotspot in a box. I am sure cheaper solutions exist, but from the looks of it, this may be the easiest.
