<p>Heidi had her baby, Liam, last night at about 11:30. Haven&#8217;t seem the baby yet, but I hear is doing great. He weighed something like 8 pounds.</p>

<p>Not quite going to sleep yet&#8230; I have been thinking some about Apple&#8217;s new OS features and think that the Safari/RSS thing is going to be really good for <a href='http://ranchero.com/netnewswire'>NetNewsWire</a>. I think many new people are going to cut their teeth with RSS using Safari and realize that NNW is so much better, especially some of the new features (according to Brent). Konfabulator, however, got the short end of the stick. Tiger will run their product off the market, but Arlo and Perry have made other cool things in the past, I am sure this won&#8217;t be the last. (Sorry for no links, I will maybe add them in the morning)</p>

<p>For those of you following our move, this entry will be just what you are looking for. It is not just after midnight and we are finally (just about) all moved in. We have unloaded both cars and boxes consume every inch of floor. The place is great and I am really looking forward to living so close to the Plaza. As some may know, we have a few large holes in the wall and they still exist. We leave for Chicago Thursday morning and maybe our apartment will be in living order by the time we get back on Monday. Everyone has been really nice (except for the dog that attacked me while I will picking up a copy of our lease), just a little slow at getting anything done.

Time to go to sleep, its been a long day. Oh, one other thing, while on vacation I hope to finish my newest book and start some programming when I get back.

<p><a href='http://apple.com'>Apple</a> unveiled its newest <a href='http://www.apple.com/macosx/tiger/'>operating system</a> today and with it a bunch of new features. One that I found particularly amusing was one called <a href='http://www.apple.com/macosx/tiger/dashboard.html'>Dashboard</a>. Dashboard is nothing more than <a href='http://konfabulator.com'>Konfabulator&#8217;s</a> <a href='http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=doppelganger&#38;r=67'> doppelganger</a>. I used Konfabulator some last year and enjoyed it, but I think Dashboard will be better, mostly because it will be free with the O/S and more widely used. The funny thing about Dashboard is that on Konfabulator&#8217;s website it says, &#8216;Cupertino, start your photocopiers.&#8217; That is funny because earlier this week, Apple released PR slogans with, among other hits on Microsoft, &#8216;Redmond, start your photocopiers.&#8217;</p>

<p>For anyone interested in our move to the new apartment, we are still not in. We were going to move our bed over to the new place last night, but it was raining and the bed only fits in the truck. We have hot water now, but still no shower head. We mopped the floor in the new place last night and I am sure they will just make anther mess in it today. What an adventure and oh-so-interesting.</p>

<p>I finally got a <a href='http://gmail.google.com/'>gmail</a> account today thanks to Vaughn. I had been waiting for quite a while for someone to invite into the beta club. The funny thing about my wait was that not even 30 minutes after I got my very first invite from Vaughn, I got another invitiation from Alex. My gmail.com email address is travisj@... Not too exciting, but it gets the job done.</p>
