<p>i am looking at getting the new office 2004 for mac and saw on the list of features that they give <i>&#8216;Rights to install on three computers in your household&#8217;</i> with the purchase of the <a href='http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/officex/howtobuy/howtobuy.aspx?pid=studentteacher'>student version</a>. has this always been the case? and why just on the student version? the regular version isn&#8217;t this way.</p>

<p><a href='http://apple.com'>apple</a> released a new version of <a href='http://apple.com/itunes'>itunes</a> this morning. it is similar to previous versions with a few interesting upgrades. the most interesting, in my opinion, is the new <a href='http://www.apple.com/itunes/import.html'>apple lossless audio format</a>. i can&#8217;t seem to find anything about it on <a href='http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&#38;lr=&#38;ie=UTF-8&#38;oe=UTF-8&#38;c2coff=1&#38;q=%22apple+lossless%22&#38;btnG=Search'>google</a> and apple doesn&#8217;t seem to say too much about it. i wish apple would just adopt <a href='http://www.softsound.com/Shorten.html'>shorten</a> or, even better, <a href='http://flac.sourceforge.net/'>flac</a>.</p>

<p>i have a question for anyone that knows anything about Indian (people from India) naming conventions. at school everyone calls me &#8216;johnson&#8217;, not &#8216;travis&#8217;. such as &#8216;hi johnson&#8217; or &#8216;nice job johnson&#8217;. does anyone know why this is?</p>

<p>last night i got an email from <a href='http://google.com'>google</a> notifying me that i had been accepted into their <a href='https://www.google.com/adsense/'>adsense</a> program. i had previously applied and been denied because they did not accept &#8216;blogs&#8217;. the email said this policy had changed and i have now been accepted.

<p>i have been <a href='http://eightfivethree.com/archive/2004/04/#entry564'>thinking</a> about getting a new <a href='http://apple.com/powerbook'>powerbook</a> and with it some new software. one of the software packages i was thinking about was office. up until last night i didn&#8217;t particularly like it, but it was so widely used that sometimes i just have to have it.

last night, things changed. i am now going to live my life without microsoft word. it was awful, i was tyring to put the figures in my paper at the top of the page and AutoFormat kept ruining everything. i was finally able to get them in, but i am not too happy with them. oh well, the paper is done and i am done with word.
