go umkc!

umkc destroyed k-state in their basketball game last night. it is nights like those that make me proud to be a roo. i can’t imagine being a wildcat at a time like this.

the game wasn’t even close. the roos scored more points in the second half than the wildcats scored ALL game.
i’ve said it once and i’ll say it again, i can’t imagine being a wildcat at a time like this.
thanks dad for pointing this out.

more about the ps2 online

so i am learning more about having the ps2 online, but a big problem with it is that it changes its ip address everytime it gets back online. most computers, keep their ip address, even when they are off for a little while. so everytime i want to go online with it i have to first change my router settings… what a pain…

my poor key

tonight, returning from a nice night at my grandparent’s house, i go to unlock our front dorr and my key broke off in the lock. luckily enough of the key stuck out from the lock and rachel was able to get the key out and unlock the door with her key.

icapture

i came across an interesting site this morning, icapture. icaputre will give you a screenshot of any site in safari on the mac. now, this isn’t all that cool for me since i use a mac and have safari, but if i could find something like this for internet explorer for windows.

ps2 online

this weekend rachel got the sims: bustin’ out for ps2 and it happens to be an online compatible game. well, i have had the network adapter for quite some time, but never took the time to figure out how to actually get it to work. last week i started looking around the internet for ways to get the network adapter to work with a router (i have my ps2 hooked up to a wireless bridge and then to my router) . everything i saw on the inernet said to put the ps2 in the dmz, but that wouldn’t work for me because i had my web server on the router also, and putting the ps2 in the dmz would send all traffic to eightfivetehree.com to my ps2, and we all know that is not a webserver. so, finally, the solution was to route all connections to ports 11100 – 11199 (tcp) to my ps2. also, i had to route some udp ports to it also, but i don’t have the headset so i don’t think the udp ports really matter.

i wish it was christmas today

i am quite excited for christmas. time off from school and time off from work will be so fun. aaron even says that we are getting presents. this sure has been the year of the presents for rachel and i. in addition to the wonderful presents of new family, we got just about everything from pb and w-s.

i am looking forward to spending time with all of our family, christmas eve with my family and christmas day with rachel’s. and then the rest of the holiday with just rachel. of course, rachel and i still need to see lotr:return of the king.
sorry for not posting anything lately, i haven’t been to think of what to write. happy holidays.
